I would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for the support we receive at Weiser Memorial Hospital and the Weiser Memorial Surgical and Specialty Clinic. It is a privilege to serve so many of you. Not only have you given us the opportunity to provide healthcare services, but you have given countless hours of service to the hospital and gracious financial donations to the Foundation.

We are fortunate to have a hospital in our community. We recognize that it is your support and the work of our dedicated physicians and staff that make it possible. We have a wonderful group of family physicians in our community. I have had many opportunities to work with them and have experienced firsthand their commitment and dedication to their patients and to the healthcare of our community. I see them at all hours of the day and night working with our staff to provide the best care for their patients. As I travel the state and visit with other healthcare leaders, I frequently hear positive comments about our family practice physicians and how fortunate we are to have them here in Weiser.

In addition to our family practice physicians, our community benefits from the presence of many different specialists. Often I receive feedback from patients on how much they appreciate being able to see a cardiologist, orthopedic surgeon, general surgeon or other specialist here in Weiser. Weiser is fortunate to have such a diverse group of physicians willing to travel from all areas of the Treasure Valley to see patients here in Weiser. Your support and the attentive hospital and clinic staff make this a great place for them.

As a hospital, we appreciate the opportunity we have to meet your emergency care needs as well. This last year we began a transition in our Emergency Department. With the support of our family practice physicians and specialists, we were able to begin a new relationship with an emergency physician group in Boise. This group is made up of highly trained emergency doctors, who work at some of the busiest and best emergency departments in the state. Our relationship with them now allows us to provide emergency physicians in our Emergency Department 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Under their medical direction, we will continue to strengthen our emergency department and its ability to meet our communities emergency care needs.

The future for Weiser Memorial Hospital is bright. There are many challenges on the healthcare road ahead, but we look forward to serving you and building on our successes. We have made great strides in our financial departments. Many new processes, procedures, and technologies have been implemented, which have streamlined our billing and collections. As a result, the financial position of the hospital continues to improve and stabilize. Our new partnership with St Luke’s has strengthened our ability to grow and enhance the quality of our clinical programs. This helps us continue to provide services here locally in Weiser. There are a lot of exciting changes coming to the hospital and we continue to ask for your support as we work together to meet the healthcare needs of our community.
